Description
This project was launched in 2019 as part of the broad government strategy to transform 68% of homesteads from subsistence to market-oriented production with the overall objective of promoting job creation and improving household incomes.
Beneficiaries
Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies (SACCOs) across various specialized categories like boda boda riders, women entrepreneurs, carpenters, salon operators, taxi drivers, market vendors, youth leaders, people with disabilities (PWDs), journalists, performing artists
Small-Scale business owners and economically active groups at the grassroots level.
How Money is Accessed
Through Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (SACCOs) formed by potential beneficiaries within specific categories like boda boda riders, market vendors, or women entrepreneurs, with the funds being disbursed directly into the SACCO accounts managed by the Microfinance Support Centre (MSC) for further distribution to members; essentially, eligible individuals join a relevant SACCO to access the Emyooga funds
